Butter-Soft Oatmeal Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • cups water boiling
  • 2 tbsp yeast
  • ½ cup water warm (110℉-115℉)
  • 5½-6 cups all-purpose flour
  • butter melted (for basting on top)

Instructions

  • Boil 2½ cups of water. Mix together oats, sugar, butter and salt. Add the boiling water to the mixture and let it cool to 110℉-115℉.
  • Once cooled, add the ½ cup of warm water and yeast. Let it dissolve and sit for a few minutes.
  • Add in flour and knead well, about 6 minutes,
  • Let raise for an hour or until doubled.
  • Punch dough down and move to a floured surface. Divide the dough into 20 pieces. Form into rolls, and place in a greased baking pan.
  • Let raise again until doubled, about 45 minutes.
  • Bake at 350℉ for 30-35 minutes.
  • When the rolls are baked, brush the tops with melted butter.
