We made this dish for our New Year's breakfast and served it with whipped cream and fresh blueberries. Such a happy way to start out a new year!

- ½ cup butter melted
- 2 cups oatmeal
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-by-12-inch baking pan.
Combine the oats and sugar in a medium bowl. Then pour in the milk and vanilla.
Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking powder.
Add the melted butter and the egg.
Stir it all together. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 minutes, until set.
Cut into squares while still warm.
Serve with whipped cream and berries. (Blueberries are divine with this dish.)
