Layered Fiesta Bean Dip

This Recipe came with us from Hudson, Wisconsin when we moved to Utah over 25 years ago. It fast became a family favorite and is front and center at most of our holiday celebrations!


Seven-Layer Bean Dip

We honestly haven't met a seven-layer dip we like better than this one.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can refried beans large
  • 3 avocados
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • garlic salt to taste
  • 1 8-oz. container sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. taco seasoning
  • hot pepper sauce to taste
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 can pitted olives chopped
  • 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese or taco cheese

Instructions
 

  • On a plate, layer refried beans.
  • Mash avocados and mix with lemon juice and garlic salt.
  • Mix sour cream and mayonnaise together with salt, pepper, taco seasoning, and hot pepper sauce.
  • Layer avocado mix on top of refried beans.
  • Layer sour cream-mayonnaise mix on top of avocado mix.
  • Top, in turn, with green onions, tomatoes, olives, and cheese.
  • Serve with tortilla or pita chips.
