Spiced Baked Oatmeal
We made this dish for our New Year's breakfast and served it with whipped cream and fresh blueberries. Such a happy way to start out a new year!

Ingredients
- ½ cup butter melted
- 2 cups oatmeal
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-by-12-inch baking pan.
- Combine the oats and sugar in a medium bowl. Then pour in the milk and vanilla.
- Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking powder.
- Add the melted butter and the egg.
- Stir it all together. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes, until set.
- Cut into squares while still warm.
- Serve with whipped cream and berries. (Blueberries are divine with this dish.)
