One of our customers shared this recipe with me many years ago. We've shared it with many of you. It is the best 16-Bean Soup we have ever tasted! Unique ingredients makes it a hit, even with young children!

Ingredients
- 2 cups 16-bean soup mix
- 6 cups water
- Ham or a Ham Bone
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 Tbsp barbecue sauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 4 Tbsp catsup
- 1 16 oz can diced tomatoes
Instructions
Slow Cooker Instructions
- Place beans, water, ham bone, salt, ginger, onion and garlic in a slow cooker. Bring to a simmer, and let simmer all day–heat should not be too low.
- 1-2 hours before serving, add the rest of the ingredients and continue to simmer till vegetables soften.
Pressure Cooker Instructions
- Place all ingredients into pressure cooker or insta pot, and pressure cook for 20-30 minutes or until beans are cooked.
Stove-top Instructions
- Wash mixed beans and soak overnight.
- Drain and add water, ham, salt, and ginger. Cook until beans are tender–about an hour.
- Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, and simmer for 2-2 1/2 hours.
