Homemade Hummus Dip

Even if you don't think hummus is for you, this might change your mind! We tend to go heavy on the cumin and add the smoked paprika right into the dip itself--plenty of it! There's nothing more delicious than home cooked garbanzo beans-- except maybe to use them in this flavorful side dish. Delish!

Hummus Dip

This is our favorite way to use garbanzo beans! So delicious!

  • 2 15 oz cans Chickpeas (garbanzo beans) (Or WAY better---cook 1 cup dry with 3 cups water and drain!)
  • 1/2 cup Extra-virgin Olive Oil (more as needed)
  • 1/2 Lemon (Juiced)
  • 2 Tbsp Parsley (roughly chopped, extra for garnish)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (peeled)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika (more for Garnish)
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender. If too dry add a little more olive oil.

  2. Scrape into a bowl or onto a plate, garnish with extra parsley, paprika, and a drizzle of olive oil as you like.

  3. Serve with pita chips, vegetables, or add to sandwiches!
