Aunt Chirine’s Firehouse Baked Beans

This might very well be the most requested recipe in our collection! As newlyweds, we invited friends for dinner. She brought this as a compliment to our dinner, and it stole the show! We are so grateful that she shared the recipe, as it has become a favorite among our family, extended family, friends and even total strangers. Here's hoping it will put a big smile on YOUR face!


Firehouse Baked Beans

This recipe is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. It has been featured at every barbecue and summer get-together of ours for decades. Impossible not to go back for seconds (or thirds)!

  • slow cooker
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 3/4 lb bacon
  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1 can kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 2 cans pork and beans
  • 1 can butter beans
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup honey (Any sweetener works--brown sugar, honey, molasses, coconut sugar, etc.)
  • 1 Tbsp liquid smoke
  • 3 Tbsp Tbsps vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper (to taste)
  1. Brown bacon and hamburger together in slow cooker.

  2. Add other ingredients and slow cook at 300 degrees for 4-6 hours.
